A Healthier Life for a Future Nurse

Mariama
Dear Cathleen,

Mariama lives with her father, mother, three brothers and two sisters in Sierra Leone. They live in a
two bedroom house with no running water and no electricity.

Her father is a builder and the main provider of the home with monthly income of $60. Unfortunately, this is not enough to cover the basic family needs. Mariama’s mother is a housewife.

Mariama attends elementary school near her community and is currently in the 3rd grade. She wants to be a nurse when she grows up.
At night Mariama uses a locally made kerosene lamp to study, and she sleeps on a mat on the floor.
When money is low, Mariama will sometimes go to school without eating any food.

Cathleen, your donation will keep Mariama healthy so she can stay in school and achieve her goals!
