Aminata, a future nurse, is assured of better nutrition

Aminata is a smart and promising child and lives with her parents and brother in an apartment that contains a single room and a living room.  Their apartment has neither running water nor electricity.   They use a locally made kerosene lamp for lighting when the electricity goes out or is cut.

Her father is a school teacher and the main provider of the family.  He has a monthly income of about US $100 which is not enough to cover the family needs.  Aminata’s mother is uneducated and she takes care of the home. When she grows, Aminata wants to be a nurse. She does light errands to help her mother provide for the family when her father’s salary is delayed.
