Health for a Future Healer!

SORIE
Dear Laurent,

Sorie is an 11-year-old who lives with his parents and four siblings. Sorie’s father is the main provider for this family of seven, but his monthly salary as a driver is only $70. As you might imagine, this is often not enough to meet the family’s basic needs.

Despite his humble circumstances, Sorie dreams of becoming a medical doctor. Your generous donation means that Sorie will receive supplemental nutrition for a year that is essential for a healthy body and mind. The health of a future healer is protected because of you, Laurent, and Sorie and his parents thank you!

Three Now Connected in Thanksgiving!

Abu_Emmah_Mbalay
Dear Laurent,

Abu, Emmah, and Mbalay now have something great in common, but this was not always the case.  Abu is a mason who lives with his wife and child in a 1-bedroom apartment without running water or electricity. Emmah is a student and lives with her parents, three sisters, and three brothers in a mud house with no electricity or running water. Mbalay and her husband are raising four children in a 2-bedroom house, also without running water or electricity.

Through your kind donation of treated bed nets, they are now connected by what they have – not just by what they do not. They are now protected from malaria thanks to your generosity! Abu, Emmah and Mbalay sincerely thank you, Laurent, for the difference your gift will make in their lives!

Dear Laurent,

Musukulah lost her husband during the civil war in Sierra Leone. Now, she and her six children are living in a 1-bedroom apartment without running water or electricity. They have been surviving on the generosity of family and loved ones, but this help has been infrequent and inconsistent.

Musukulah believes that soap making can turn things around for her and her children, so she was overwhelmed by your kind donation. Musukulah sincerely thanks you, Laurent, and promises to seize this opportunity with the greatest possible energy! Thank you for helping Musukulah start her own business!

Full Bellies for the Fofanah Family

FOFANAH_FAMILY
Dear Laurent,

The Fofanah family lives in a small home without running water. They were so surprised when a bag of rice was presented to them that they thought a mistake had been made.

With eight mouths to feed, there are usually several less than full bellies each night. The bag of rice you generously donated has changed that. They are extremely grateful to you, Laurent, and express their sincerest thanks!

Five Times the Gratitude For Treated Mosquito Nets!

MOHAMED,_FANTA,_ABDUL,_FATMATA,_JENEBA
Dear Laurent,

Mohamed, Fanta, Abdul, Fatmata and Jeneba are from different generations but have similar dreams for a brighter future. Mohamed intends to become an accountant, Abdul plans to be a lawyer, and Fatmata and Jeneba want to be bankers. Fanta’s dreams are less for herself than they are for her seven children, whom she struggles to raise on a salary of only $70 per month.

However, Mohamed, Fanta, Abdul, Fatmata and Jeneba are now closer to turning those dreams into reality because of the treated mosquito nets you generously donated. You have helped to protect their health, and their health is their wealth. Mohamed, Fanta, Abdul, Fatmata and Jeneba thank you, Laurent, and so do we!

Following in Her Mother’s Footsteps

Elizabeth

Dear Niranjan, Laurent, Karen, Sophia and Larry, and UBS,

Elizabeth was born on February 14th 2004.  She wants to follow in the footsteps of someone she admires – her mother, Dora.  Dora is a teacher and has inspired Elizabeth to become a lecturer.  Her father, Kotay, is currently unemployed.

Elizabeth’s favorite subject is English, particularly word building exercises, and she also enjoys singing.  Her mother’s teaching salary does not meet the needs of their family, with two children.   Nor can it afford Elizabeth and her family a home with running water.

With this support that you have provided, Elizabeth can focus less on her day-to-day needs and more on learning, singing and just being a kid. Thank you all for generously supporting Elizabeth’s tuition and meals for a year!
