A scholarship for Adama – a girl full of potential
posted April 19, 2013

Adama is an 11 year-old bright and pleasant student in Sierra Leone. She has a charming smile and is full of potential. Her favorite subject in school is ‘dictation and spelling.’ Her father is a teacher and the main provider of the home — he brings home $70 per month to support his family. Adama’s mother is a petty trader and sells sugar. The family lives in a two bedroom apartment with no electricity or running water.
At home, Adama is very helpful and assists her parents whenever possible. She helps to keep the house tidy and sweep the floor. When she has free time, she loves to play balance ball.
Adama and her family struggle to get by but, due to your combined efforts, they will receive some extra support. Your donations to Door of Hope ensure Adama will receive a year long scholarship and be able to continue her education. Thank you Ron, Laura, Katie, Heidi, Jigna, Correll and Amit for bringing relief and the gift of future success to Adama!
