Mary is a sixth grader at the FAWE primary school in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Her favorite subject is math — she likes to draw and also help others in need. Mary wants to be a banker when she grows up.
Mary has two brothers and nine sisters. Her mother is a a hairdresser and a co-provider for the family. She earns $50 a month. Her father is a construction worker and the main provider of the home. Although he earns $70 a month, their combined incomes cannot cover the basic needs of their 10 children. They live in a three bedroom apartment with no running water but with electricity.
Mary wants to be computer literate as she says this will help her be in touch with the world. This will be tremendously useful as she prepares for a life of service as a banker. Thank you, Vishal, Manish, and Xingzhao, for helping to make this training possible by supporting Door of Hope.
