Haja is 15 years old and lives in Sierra Leone in a small apartment with no running water. Her father is a tailor and her mother stays at home to take care of Haja and her three siblings.
Haja’s favorite subject is mathematics and when she grows up, she would like to be a nurse. Her father is the main provider of the home with a monthly income of $50 — not enough to cover the basic needs of the family.
Haja wants to become computer literate as she realizes that this is essential for success in her chosen career. Through programming from Door of Hope, she is receiving computer training and is tremendously grateful for this opportunity to learn and improve herself. The training she is receiving will help her become a better nurse in the future. You can see the delightful smile and excitement on her face as she learns in this photo.
Thank you, Jason, for bringing a smile and helping to make this part of her dream come true!
