Neatly Dressed in Junior Secondary School

Memunatu Conteh
Dear Kristen,

Memunatu is a twelve year old girl who lives with her mother, three brothers and a sister in a two bedroom apartment with no running water or electricity here in Sierra Leone.  Her father Mohamed is no longer living with the rest of the family so her mother Fatmata, who is a petty trader that sells fried food, is the main provider of the home with a monthly income of $50.   Fatmata’s income is not enough to cover the basic needs of the home.

Memunatu is a pupil of the Sierra Leone International Mission Secondary School and she is in Junior Secondary School (JSS 1). Science is her favorite subject in school and she wants to be a nurse when she grows up.

Memunatu expresses her thanks to you for the new uniform and a pair of shoes, she is now able to go to school neatly dressed.
