Bintu is eight years old. She is a pupil of the United Mission Council primary school in Sierra Leone and she is in class two. Bintu wants to be a hair dresser when she grows up.
Bintu’s mother is a housewife, and her father is the main provider of the home with a monthly income of $50. This is not enough to cover the basic needs of a family of five. Bintu and her family live in a single bedroom apartment with no running water and no electricity.
She expresses her thanks and appreciation for the provision of a pair of uniforms, a pair of shoes, and a pair of socks. “You have given my parents less to worry about,” Bintu said. Thank you!
