Mariatu is in class three at the Ahmadiyya Islamic Primary School in the Wellington community of Freetown, Sierra Leone. She wants to be a nurse when she grows up.
Her father and mother are petty traders who jointly provide for the family with their monthly income of $100. This is not enough to cover the needs of a family of ten children. They live in a three bedroom house with no running water but with electricity.
Mariatu extends her thanks for the provision of the bed net that is helping her to have sweet sleep at night.
