Honoring and Protecting the Elders

Yellie, Yenoh and Tenneh are grandmothers, and each is being supported by one of their adult children.

Yellie lives with her son’s family in a 2-bedroom apartment that has no running water or electricity.  She helps by taking care of her grandchildren and does gardening to earn a little income.

Yenoh resides with her son’s family in a single bedroom apartment without running water or electricity. Her son earns only $80 each month to provide for his family.

Tenneh is living with her daughter’s family in a 2-bedroom apartment with neither electricity nor running water. Her daughter’s husband is the main provider, but earns only $100 per month to care for his four children, wife, and mother-in-law.
