A Lesson in Kindness for a Future Teacher

Binta lives with her parents and three brothers in a 2-bedroom house without running water or electricity.  Her mother is a trader, so her income is inconsistent and undependable.  Binta’s father earns $90 a month as a soldier, but this is not enough to meet the basic needs of his large family. Although Binta’s parents may lack material wealth, they are full of encouragement and support for their daughter’s dream of becoming a teacher.
