Dear Aparajita,
Abdulai lives with his father, mother, two brothers, and two sisters in a two bedroom mud house with no running water and no electricity at Mellon Street in the Wellington Community. His father is a baker and the main provider of the home with a monthly income of $70, which is not enough to cover the basic family needs. His mother is a petty trader using her income to augment her husband’s income in managing the affairs of the home. Abdulai likes reading, mathematics, Religious Arabia, and playing football at his leisure. Mohamed wants to be a banker when he grows up.
He uses a kerosene lamp to study and sleeps on a mat spread on the bare floor.
Thank you, Aparajita, for your gift. The mosquito net helps protect Abdulai from malaria!
