Zainab lives in a two bedroom apartment with no running water, no electricity, and a very poor toilet facilities, in a populated compound at Upper Mellon street in the Wellington community. She lives with his mother, father, two brothers, and two sisters . Zainab’s father is a mason and the main provider of the home with a monthly income of $70. Her mother is a gardener and supplements the family income with the little she gets from the sales of vegetable. Zainab’s family lives on the brink of poverty.
Zainab wants to be a nurse when she grows up. She uses a locally made kerosene lamp to study at night, and sleeps on a mat spread on the floor.
Thank you, Megan, for your gift. The mosquito net helps protect Zainab from malaria!
