Fatmata, from Sierra Leone, dreams of leading a full life as a nurse – a life in stark contrast to the reality in which her war affected family currently lives. Fatmata’s father died before she was born and her mother’s income as a street hawker is inconsistent and unpredictable. Fatmata and her sibling often go without food. Their zinc sheet home has no electricity and no running water.
Fatmata is very active and an excellent student at school. Her hobbies include reading and writing, and she has several favorite subjects including mathematics and pre-vocational study.
Your support means Fatmata can grow up in a healthier environment, with her needs met, moving her closer to living the life of her dreams!
Thank you Neil, Jacqueline, Rosary and Johnny for helping to make Fatmata’s educational dreams come true! Thank you so much for your support!
