Amidu lives with his mom and half-sister in a one bedroom mud house with no running water, no electricity, and a poor toilet facility. His father is a student and does not generate any income to provide financially for Amidu and his mother.

Amidu would like to go to school and become somebody important in society but his mother lacks the financial power to make this wish a reality.

Amidu and his relatives depend on support received from other relatives to survive.
