Eva’s Bright Eyes are Shining Even Brighter!
posted November 7, 2010

Eva was born on the 29th of December 1998. Her father is deceased and was killed during the Sierra Leonean civil war. Her mother, Isatu, is a teacher with a monthly income of around $27.
Eva has 5 siblings. They live in a mud house, with no running water or electricity. They struggle to make ends meet and her mother is unable to provide 2 meals a day. They sometimes go without food. Her grandmother lives with them and sells kerosene per pint. This helps to supplement the family income.
Eva’s favorite subject in school is English Literature. She attends the local United Methodist School. She loves to play with her toys. Eva has bright eyes and a pleasant personality. She has a firm sense of purpose and works hard at school. She wants to become a banker when she grows up.
Eva and Isatu were delighted to hear that they had received this scholarship. This will bring the much needed stability to Eva’s life and ensure she has the support needed to continue to do well in school. Eva’s bright eyes are shining even brighter!
Thank you Tiffani, Kristin, Molly, David, Craig, Jeffrey and Susan for helping to make a difference and an impact in Eva’s life!
