Adama lives with her mother, father, two sisters, and two brothers in a two bedroom block house with no running water, poor toilet facilities, and electricity. Adama has known poverty for a long time now. She belongs to a polygamous family and does not receive much attention. Her mother is a trader and the main provider of the household. Sadly, she makes only $80 a month–an insufficient amount to cover her family’s needs. Adama attends the Ahmadiyya muslim primary school in Wellington. She wants to be a seammstress when she grows up. Adama sometimes assist her mother to sell assorted items in the market. She likes movies, especially village films.
Thank you Julia, for your gift. A three months supply of vitamins will keep her in good spirits and better health!
