Hi Cherry Crest Elementary,
Hawanatu lives with her mother in a single bedroom with no water and no electricity.
Her father is a petty trader but spends little time with Hawanatu, her sisters and mother. The mother is the bread winner of the home and also a petty trader. Hawanatu wants to be a seamstress when she grows up and she uses a locally made kerosine lamp to study at night. Despite her predicament Hawanatu is committed to her school work.
The families income of $60 per month is not enough to cover family needs, including malaria prevention. Hawanatu regularly attends school and is thankful for the gift of a net to prevent malaria. Thank you Cherry Crest Elementary!
