Alie lives in Freetown, Sierra Leone, with his mother and five siblings in a mud home with no running water or electricity.
Alie’s father died two years ago after a prolonged illness which swept away their finances. Alie’s mother is the main provider for her six children and by selling firewood she earns $50 a month. This is not enough to cover the needs of the entire household.
Alie helps his mother transport the firewood whenever there is a purchase, and he does light errands for people within his community to raise lunch money for school. Because of their limited finances, the family meals are frequently not balanced or nutritious.
Thanks Trudi for helping to supplement Alie’s diet with vitamin supplements. This will go a long way toward ensuring his good health!
