Hawanatu and her two siblings and parents live in a zinc sheet home with no running water or electricity. The single room and living room house the entire family. Hawanatu walks around bare-footed except when she goes to school or to church. Her father works as a security guard and her mother is a hairdresser. Their combined monthly income of US $100 is insufficient to cover the family needs. They have had to make adjustments to make ends meet and this has adversely affected the quality of food that they eat and the frequency of meals.
Hawanatu does light errands for people to raise money for her lunch. This helps to complement her diet. She was delighted to receive the vitamin supplements as this will improve her nutrition.
Neil, thank you for helping to ensure that she receives the nutrients her growing body needs.
