Victory Over Malaria for Kadiatu!

Kadiatu - With her new net

Kadiatu - With her new net

Kadiatu Suma attends the Vickray’s school in Sierra Leone.  She likes mathematics and English subjects.  She also likes playing volleyball in her leisure time. When she grows up, she wants to be a medical doctor.

Kadiatu, her parents, two brothers and a dependent relative live in a single bedroom mud house with no running water and no electricity. Kadiatu’s studies using a kerosene lamp at night and after study, she sleeps on a savanna (grass) bed, together with her brothers.

Kadiatu’s father is a soldier and the main provider of the home with a monthly income totaling US$ 70 – which is not enough to cover the basic family needs.  Kadiatu has two brothers also going to school which makes it difficult for her parents to pay their fees on time, let alone purchase a much needed mosquito net.

Kadiatu and her family were delighted to receive a bed net that she now shares with her 2 brothers.

Thanks to Amanda and this new net they now have victory over mosquitoes and malaria.
