gave 20 for a mosquito net |
posted July 1, 2010
Duranatu attends a primary school in the Wellington community outside Freetown, Sierra Leone. Duranatu is a recent beneficiary of an insecticide-treated bed net.
Duranatu’s Father, a police officer and the main income earner, brings home US $80 a month, which is not enough to cover the family’s needs. Duranatu’s mother is a house wife and unskilled to manage a well-paying job. Thus, they were unable to provide a net for Duranatu.
Duranatu’s mother expressed that apart from the painful mosquito bites was the inconvenience and restlessness they were facing at night. With the mosquito nets, the past two nights were their best nights sleep in a year.
Imagine finally being able to sleep peacefully… What an impact!
Thanks so much Niranjan!
