Kadiatu was born on 17th May 2001 and attends a Christian school in the hill side community of Wellington near Freetown, Sierra Leone. She likes reading Bible stories. Kadiatu wants to be a nurse when she grows up.
Kadiatu lives with her mother and her two sisters, in a single room mud house with electricity but no running water. Kadiatu’s father abandoned them five years ago which means her mother is the main provider. Kadiatu’s mother is a petty trader with a monthly income of about US $50 – an amount insufficient to cover the basic family needs, let alone cover the cost of a net.
